Capella University

Capella University is a leader in online learning with 136 graduate and undergraduate specializations and over 1050 online courses. The faculty includes over 1200 professors, with 83% holding doctoral degrees. The student body is mostly adult, with an average age of 39.

The 2010 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) reports that Capella “exceeds the national average among colleges and universities in the level of academic challenge offered to its students, and in providing a supportive campus environment.”

Capella University develops alliances with corporations to provide educational benefits to employees, and has help for service members returning from combat, GI Bill students, and active military. Military Advanced Education magazine rates Capella in its Top 20 Military-Friendly Award program. Capella was featured in The Next Mission, a PBS documentary on returning veterans support systems for those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD).
