A master’s degree is granted to students who have proven expertise in their field of study beyond the levels of a bachelor’s degree. The length of time required to complete the required credits vary widely, but two to three years is good time frame to shoot for. The master’s degree is not a task to be taken lightly. Graduates are expected to possess analytical skills, complex problem solving, independent thinking, and a true mastery of the subject matter. Extensive time and commitment is required to successfully complete your master’s degree. It’s not for the faint of heart.
The most popular degrees awarded are the Masters of Arts and Master of Science, the M.A. and M.S. respectively. Depending upon your area of study, you may be required to write a master’s thesis or provide an extended research project as the culmination of your studies. Many professions require a minimum of the master’s degree, and the following degrees are among the more popular options: Master in Psychology, Master in General Education, Master in Marketing, and Master in Information Systems.
Directly below you’ll find a comprehensive list of master’s degree programs, followed by a list of online schools that provide master’s degrees in various programs. If you’d like to search more by area of study, navigate the Subject area on the left side of this page. If an online school isn’t for you, we also provide information on campus based colleges and universities.
